Bowling and waterfalls

As I mentioned yesterday I went bowling. I also have realised that I am utterly useless at it! It probably didn't help that we were drinking some funky Laos whiskey and bowling barefoot. However it was so much fun and is definitely a experience of a lifetime!

Today we decided to take it easy and just went to a massive waterfall just outside of town. So far that is probably the most beautiful waterfall I have seen so far.

To get to the waterfall we had to walk through a forrest for about 5 minutes and halfway through is a bear sanctuary. This is where they have brought bear which have been mistreated and take care of them. Many of the bears have been captive in in bile farms. Many people in Southeast Asia still believe that bear bile is a cure to most diseases. So what they do is keep the bears in tiny cages and about once a month they stick a massive needle in their gallbladders and remove the bile. The Laos government is trying to stop this hand has made this practice illegal and have stated these bear sanctuaries to help the bears.
